Water-based training provides balanced muscle resistance in all directions, and when paired with land-based strength and gait training, it can be a powerful tool for building core muscle strength, cardiovascular fitness, and mastering golf-specific movements such as long-drives.

The Townsend Training Method focuses on specific rotational movements, which improves body mechanics and builds balanced muscle strengthallowing you to rip the ball off the tee and increasing your chances for making birdies.

We started our journey in 1997 with a vision to help athletes, senior citizens, and long-drive golfers manage their fitness and strength using aquatic training. Since then, Power Water Golf has helped people boost their strength and power using a range of water training exercises that minimize the chance of injury.

Our founder, Willie Townsend, is a professional long-ball driver and helps both elite and amateur athletes elevate physical wellness to incredible levels. He drives the company with the mission to promote health, physical fitness, and athletic performance using unique aquatic-based training, that eliminates the chance of injury and accelerates recovery time between workouts.

WILLIE TOWNSEND

Retired long-ball driver golfer, Willie townsend, has over 35 years of experience and over 15 years of competing professionally. Longest drive record during competition was 423 yards. 

In 1997, Willie developed a an aquatic-based training method into a new instructional technique for golfers that improves core strength, while minimizing injury and accelerating recovery. 

 

Currently a consultant and advisor for collegiate athletic departments, Willie spends most of his time improving athletic training systems, and teaching the patented "Townsend Method" to personal trainers and physical therapists.

The Townsend Method is a unique strength training program that focuses on specific rotational movements in an aquatic environment that improves core strength, enhances swing mechanics, and minimizes injury and recovery time.
